Microsoft Office Suite 2003
Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 (June 2005)
Compatibility
Microsoft Office 2003 can be installed on operating systems that meet its minimum requirements. Because it is not a 64-bit version, it can be installed on the x86 and x64 versions of Windows XP. Additionally, it can be installed on 32-bit versions of Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0, although in many cases you will need to use compatibility mode to run the programs, which may slow them down.
Vista 64-bit and later versions of Windows are fully capable of running the latest version of Office. While the majority of programs will run without any changes, some programs may require some minor changes to work correctly.
When installing Microsoft Office 2008 on Windows Vista and Windows 7, there are noticeable differences from the way older versions work. This is because the new version of Office uses a new code-name and is incompatible with the way Office 2007 (Office XP) worked. Furthermore, the installer has been changed to install the programs instead of the way Office XP did. Microsoft released several compatibility updates to fix some of the issues that users have had with the installer, however, the actual installation of Office programs has not been changed. These updates include:
Office 2008 R2: June 30, 2011
Office 2007: June 30, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 1: January 28, 2009
Office 2007 Service Pack 2: June 24, 2009
Office 2007 Service Pack 3: July 22, 2009
Office 2007 Service Pack 4: December 18, 2009
Office 2007 Service Pack 5: May 13, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 6: June 2, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 7: July 20, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 8: September 13, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 9: October 7, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 10: December 9, 2010
Office 2007 Service Pack 11: June 15, 2011
After installing the compatibility update for Office 2007, you must reinstall the necessary components of the program (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to be able to use the programs correctly. In addition, it is recommended that you install the.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or later.
To install Microsoft Office 2008 on Windows 8, you must install the "Windows Apps" preview package instead of using the full Office program.
Office 2010
Microsoft Office 2010 contains some new features that have been added to Office 2007. One of these
